Nature Looks Good on You

Nature Looks Good on You

There’s something about the outdoors that sticks with you. Maybe it’s the feeling of standing at the edge of a canyon or watching the sun rise over a quiet trail. Maybe it’s that deep breath you take the minute you step into the woods. At American Backcountry, we believe that connection to nature doesn’t have to stay on the trail — it can be part of your everyday life, and yeah, that includes what you wear.

Our tees aren’t just shirts. They’re a way to carry your love for the wild into your daily routine. Throw one on in the morning and and wear a shirt that makes you feel the most like yourself. Whether you’re grabbing coffee, sitting at your desk, or planning your next road trip, our tees help bring a little bit of the backcountry along for the ride.

The graphics on our shirts are inspired by the trails you love. We’re talking Rim to Rim, Glacier, Rocky Mountain, and the Appalachian Trail — real places with real stories. We work hard to make sure each design does justice to the landscape. And yeah, they look good. You can throw one under a flannel, layer it with your favorite hoodie, or just wear it with jeans and let the artwork speak for itself. It’s easy, it’s comfortable, and it keeps you close to the places that matter most.

But we don’t just care about how our shirts look — we care about how they’re made. Most of our tees are printed on Repreve® fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles. The prints themselves are done using water-based inks and eco-friendly methods like Direct to Garment and DYE SUB — that means less waste, brighter colors, and a smaller impact on the planet. Our new Polaris printer even uses water-based inks to help us take our sustainability to the next level.

And the best part? Our manufacturing stays close to home. Everything from fabric to printing to fulfillment happens within a 200-mile footprint, right here in the Carolinas. Keeping it local means supporting American jobs and reducing emissions. It’s one more way we’re making sure our love for the outdoors shows up in the way we do business.

The way we see it, wearing an American Backcountry shirt is more than just repping your favorite trail. It’s a way to show the world that you care about public lands, that you’re part of the outdoor community, and that you’re doing your part to protect the places you love. It’s a quiet statement, but it matters. And when enough of us make that choice, it adds up.

So yeah, our shirts are for hikers and backpackers and road-trippers. But they’re also for regular days, the days when you’re not on a mountain but still thinking about the next one. When you wear American Backcountry, you’re bringing the outside in. You’re building a wardrobe that reflects your lifestyle. And you’re reminding yourself (and everyone else) that nature belongs in everyday life.
